Lifetime Achievement Award – Firmin Robert WAN
On the occasion of the 6th edition of the JNA awards 2017 (Jewellery News Asia), which took place on September 14 in Hong Kong, Mr Robert WAN had the honor of receiving the award of excellence named “Lifetime Achievement “. This award embodies the ultimate recognition in the pearl and fine jewellery industry.
Mr Robert WAN, also known today as the “Emperor of the pearl of Tahiti,” is recognized for his commitment to the development of pearl culture and its exceptional career in French Polynesia.
Organized by the JNA, the annual JNA awards ceremony celebrates innovation and excellence in jewellery and the gemstone industry every year, honoring companies and individuals to thank them for their contributions to the advancement of trade and their achievements in Asia. Like an “Oscar” for jewellery, the JNA has decided this year to hand it to Robert WAN for the first time at the JNA awards gala dinner and gala held successfully last Thursday, September 14th, at the Hong Kong Intercontinental Hotel.
Mr Robert WAN has successfully completed a successful career and continues to sublimate the pearl of Tahiti through its magnificent collections now present alongside the greatest names in fine jewellery. He was able to gather around him the best technicians, designers, creators to raise the pearl of Tahiti to the rank of the most precious diamonds, especially through his latest creation unveiling an exceptional necklace and unique in the world: the “Enso”.
It was also during his speech of thanks that Mr Robert WAN expressed his beliefs about the pearl of Tahiti: “It’s been 45 years now that the pearl has always given me the chance and it continues to fascinate me today. There is no limit in the search for perfection. The pearl is a noble and natural product that we must respect and admire. I have dedicated my life to her and today I dedicate her to all women who will succumb to her natural and eternal beauty.”
Once again, the pearl of Tahiti has made a place on the international scene and in the field of fine jewellery.
